Students who graduate from the M.S. program will gain the expertise and skills necessary to pursue careers in atmospheric science. This expertise is developed by completing a core curriculum, selecting from diverse graduate electives, and engaging in research under faculty guidance. M.S. graduates are equipped for rewarding professional opportunities across private industry, consulting firms, and government organizations. They may also opt to advance their education by entering the Ph.D. program. Admission to the Ph.D. program requires successful completion of a thesis-based M.S. degree with committee endorsement. Applicants with relevant thesis-based M.S. degrees from other universities may enter the Ph.D. program directly by following standard application procedures.
