This cross-disciplinary graduate program, founded in 1986, involves 32 faculty members. The global recognition of these scholars and their success in securing substantial external funding has earned the program recognition as one of Colorado State University's premier Research and Scholarly Excellence hubs. Research focuses span cellular, molecular, and integrative neurobiology, particularly in fields concerning neuronal development, deterioration and repair, membrane ion channels, synaptic processes, neural pathways and biological rhythms, sensory systems, computational neuroscience, cognitive studies, and neurovirology. The program welcomes applicants passionate about exploring nervous system functions at both cellular/molecular levels and broader neural systems.
