Construction management involves comprehensive planning, coordination, and oversight of projects from start to finish. The Construction Management program focuses on managing multiple sites, applying resource management techniques, maintaining schedules, controlling costs, and meeting design and other construction requirements. Design aspects explore how built environments affect occupant comfort, while safety training prioritizes worker health.
Pursuing a Construction Management degree prepares students for professional roles in the construction sector. The program blends technology and modern management practices with civil engineering fundamentals, business principles, and essential communication skills. Students study construction techniques, cost estimation, project scheduling, digital tools, architectural concepts, management and legal basics, structural materials, and soil mechanics. Most courses feature practical lab components, offering graduates diverse career opportunities.
Admission to the Construction Management program is selective. Both new CSU students and those wishing to switch majors must first enroll as pre-construction management students.
