Some professionals establish independent practices or work as advisory consultants.
The undergraduate program combines foundational music studies, specialized therapy techniques, research coursework, and general education requirements. Students develop proficiency across multiple instruments, particularly piano, guitar, and vocal performance. Through service-learning initiatives and supervised clinical practicums with certified music therapists, students gain real-world experience. The curriculum culminates in a 1200-hour clinical internship at approved locations, meeting the American Music Therapy Association's requirements.
