The Applied Mathematics and Statistics Bachelor of Science program at Colorado School of Mines equips students to develop and execute solutions for real-world challenges across scientific, engineering, and various other domains.
Our program features two specialized tracks to match student aspirations: statistics, along with computational and applied mathematics. Those choosing computational and applied mathematics will develop expertise in mathematical modeling, applied analysis, creating numerical algorithms, and utilizing mathematical software. The statistics track provides comprehensive training in applied statistics, data science, and probability theory.
Graduates emerge prepared to evaluate data, create experimental designs, model uncertainty, and make data-driven decisions. Beyond rigorous mathematical coursework, students can explore complementary fields—from biochemistry to physics to computer science—through minors or specialized study areas.
