The Department of Theatre & Performance provides a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre. Theatre naturally integrates liberal arts, combining historical and theoretical learning with creative expression. Theatre majors gain comprehensive understanding of all aspects of theatrical production, from directing and design to technical execution and acting. Our students thrive through significant production roles and rigorous academic research, including Honors projects, while exploring diverse theatrical styles.
The Theatre Practicum serves as a crucial component of the Theatre Major. These hands-on experiences offer leadership roles, professional skill development, and direct guidance from faculty advisors.
Completing a Theatre major demands at least 36 credits across various theatre courses for a balanced curriculum. Prospective Theatre majors should enroll in either THEA 200 or THEA 150 during their first year. (Credit cannot be earned for both THEA 200 and THEA 150.)
