This program is tailored for students aspiring to pursue careers in unmanned aviation systems (UAS). It offers a blend of classroom instruction and hands-on lab work covering Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations, aviation basics, electronics, microprocessors, and programming. Graduates will be equipped to start their careers as UAS Technicians. The curriculum introduces UAS flight operations, historical context, avionics, sensor technology, communication systems, and specialized tracks in areas like Videography, Construction, RF Technology, Network Security, and First Response. Students engage in unmanned flight exercises that mirror real-world industry practices, adhering to FAA guidelines for the UAS sector. Emphasis is placed on developing academic competencies in math, science, and interpersonal skills to tackle workplace challenges effectively.
Student Learning Outcomes
Adhere to safety protocols for operating and maintaining unmanned aviation systems.
Develop and manage basic electro-mechanical systems and utilize microprocessor-based programmable controllers.
Write code for systems within the chosen specialization.
Diagnose and resolve issues in electro-mechanical systems by identifying and correcting faults.
Operate digital video cameras or specialized sensors mounted on UAS.
Utilize mathematics, written and verbal communication, and teamwork abilities.
Students are required to have international qualification equivalent to U.S. High School diploma. English Proficiency Admission Requirements: IELTS 6.0, TOEFL 61 iBT; Duolingo: 90.
