The program offers a solid academic foundation, chances to build practical skills, and an educational outlook that values human diversity as beneficial to society. Participants gain the expertise, abilities, and ethical principles essential to social work, along with understanding the profession's theoretical framework, research methodologies, and various practice approaches.
Applicants to the Traditional MSW program don't need a bachelor's in social work or any particular major, but must hold an undergraduate degree and complete at least eight social science courses before admission. These courses encompass subjects like psychology, communication, gender studies, political science, aging studies, criminology, cultural studies, economics, sociology, and urban planning, among others. Those lacking the required social science coursework may submit a petition with their application showing equivalent knowledge gained through alternative means.
If you have successfully completed a degree equivalent to a bachelor's degree in the United States, you are considered to be a graduate student at CSU.
