The Master of Science in Environmental Engineering program is administered by the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering within the Washkewicz College of Engineering. This curriculum forms the engineering foundation of Cleveland State University's interdisciplinary environmental studies initiative.
While primarily intended for those holding an engineering bachelor's degree, the program also welcomes graduates from other disciplines. Student thesis or project research opportunities align with faculty expertise, which spans diverse areas including: adsorption technologies, contaminated site cleanup, sustainable production methods, industrial wastewater management, urban redevelopment projects, air quality control systems, biological treatment methods, resource recovery, waste management engineering, physical-chemical treatment techniques, soil purification, emission control from combustion, energy transformation processes, environmental risk analysis, policy development, and continuous environmental surveillance.
If you have successfully completed a degree equivalent to a bachelor's degree in the United States, you are considered to be a graduate student at CSU.
