Music majors with a BA degree pursue diverse career paths such as: Performing Artist, Arts Administrator, Community Arts Coordinator, Event Planner, Accompanist across multiple venues, Audio Production Specialist, Entertainment Professional, Music Historian, Instrument Craftsperson/Designer, Music Librarian, Promoter, and Songwriter/Producer. Students in music programs gain deep understanding of musical styles and structures, applying this expertise through performance. They explore connections between music, social movements, and historical contexts while cultivating confidence, discipline, collaborative abilities, creative problem-solving, and artistic expression. The program fosters advanced organizational and leadership competencies. Offering a well-rounded musical education, the department also hosts concerts, recitals, seminars, masterclasses, and workshops for both campus and regional communities. The curriculum immerses all students in essential areas including Music Theory, Aural Skills, Instrumental/Vocal Technique, and Music History.
If you have successfully completed your high school degree (12 years of primary and secondary education), you are considered an undergraduate student at CSU.
