Human factors psychology, sometimes referred to as engineering psychology, examines how people interact with technological systems, from basic tools to sophisticated infrastructure like power plants, transportation networks, and everyday gadgets. This field focuses on creating safe, efficient, user-friendly, and reliable technological solutions by understanding human abilities and constraints, then applying these insights during the design phase.
At Clemson, psychology students collaborate with faculty to hone research methodologies for evaluating human performance with emerging technologies. Upon graduation, they'll be prepared to meet the growing need for human factors specialists across corporate, public sector, and academic settings.
