To grasp how traits are inherited and transmitted across generations, you'll examine the molecular architecture and role of genes along with their patterns of behavior.
While hereditary principles hold significant value in medical fields, they also find applications in cutting-edge science and industrial sectors such as biotech and farming.
Our department maintains strong ties with the Institute for Translational Genomics. Clemson University partners with the adjacent Greenwood Genetics Center in a joint human genetics initiative. Graduates from our program gain qualifications for professional schools or advanced research in bioinformatics, forensic science, and genetic advisory services.
Qualified undergraduates can simultaneously pursue their bachelor's degree while starting coursework for a Master of Science in genetics or biochemistry and molecular biology through our accelerated degree pathway.
