The Glenn Department of Civil Engineering ranks among the country's premier civil engineering programs. Civil engineering serves as a foundation for professional paths in structural engineering, construction materials, construction management, geotechnical engineering, transportation systems, water resources, and fluid mechanics. Students may apply certain degree requirements and elective courses to specialize in one of several designated emphasis areas. Qualified seniors can accelerate their master's degree through our Bachelor's-to-Graduate pathway. The department provides an ABET-accredited B.S. in Civil Engineering, featuring seven specialization tracks to enrich the educational journey. The initial two years build proficiency in calculus, engineering mechanics, physics, and chemistry. Junior year delivers comprehensive exposure to core civil engineering disciplines including structures, hydraulics, geotechnics, transportation, environmental engineering, construction materials, and construction engineering management.
