Clemson offers two undergraduate art degrees: the flexible B.A. in liberal arts and the specialized B.F.A. professional program. The B.A. provides an interdisciplinary approach, drawing from Clemson's diverse range of art and art history courses. Students in this program select a focus area among studio art, digital art and design media, or art history.
You can personalize your education by adding a minor or second major, enabling you to align your studies with career goals while benefiting from Clemson's resources as a major research institution.
B.A. candidates complete their degree requirements with a professional preparation course in their final year.
Our B.A. program appears as "art" on applications. Earn a liberal arts degree with specialized training in studio art while maintaining a broad academic foundation. The foundational studio courses mirror those in the B.F.A. program's concentrations (including ceramics, drawing, painting, printmaking, photography, sculpture, and new media). This structure combines these disciplines to deliver a unified, well-rounded studio education.
