The Bachelor of Arts program aims to introduce undergraduates to diverse studio art concepts and techniques. This degree path is ideal for those desiring a broad liberal arts foundation and serves as the preferred choice for students pursuing dual majors. Common secondary majors include communication studies (focusing on media technology and production), journalism (design specialization), biology, theater (costume and set design), and psychology (art therapy), though visual arts study can complement any academic discipline. The major requires 36 credit hours, with students allowed to apply up to 45 studio art (ARTS) credits toward their degree. Additional credits beyond 45 won't contribute to graduation requirements.
All students will be expected to have completed the pre-university curriculum (Secondary School/High School) in their country prior to enrolling at UNC-Chapel Hill. English Language Tests: TOEFL minimum is 100; IELTS minimum is 7.0; PTE minimum is 68.
