For three decades, the Clarkson Department of Education has equipped students with the skills to excel as classroom educators and English language specialists. Choosing the Clarkson MAT program proves advantageous, with graduates achieving over 95% pass rates on New York's challenging teacher certification tests and maintaining perfect job placement for five consecutive years. Our program fosters confident graduates through hands-on classroom training, including a personalized, year-long teaching residency with mentorship.
The MAT Adolescent Education and ESOL dual-degree program leads to New York State certification in both a specialized subject area (such as chemistry) for grades 5-12 and English language instruction for pre-K through 12th grade. Students can specialize in various fields including biology, chemistry, earth science, physics, technology (K12), mathematics, English, social studies, business/marketing (pre-K12), and computer science (pre-K12).
