This program offers majors a multidisciplinary approach to studying the behavior and ecology of nonhuman primates in both wild and captive environments. It prepares students for advanced studies in primate behavior, ecology, or evolutionary relationships, as well as careers involving primate care in research labs, zoos, or other captive settings.
A dual major is MANDATORY with the PBE degree. Students need to fulfill both the PBE major requirements and those of a 45+ credit major in anthropology, biology, or psychology. Prospective majors should reach out to the program office early for details, application materials, and advisor assignment. PBE students must consult with their advisor at minimum once per academic term.
