The Psychology Department provides a wide selection of undergraduate courses for students majoring or minoring in psychology, along with an accelerated five-year graduate program culminating in a master's degree in Experimental Psychology. The department's educational objectives align with three core purposes for studying psychology: (1) fostering student understanding of psychological processes in themselves and their surroundings, (2) building professional skills for careers involving human development, mental health, behavior analysis, and related psychological fields, and (3) equipping students with fundamental knowledge and abilities for advanced study in psychology or similar disciplines. As a CMU psychology student, you'll enhance your ability to comprehend, value, and occasionally anticipate behavior.
