In this major, you'll cultivate specialized skills to motivate children and adolescents with diverse learning, cognitive, physical, emotional, and health requirements. Transformative experiences await through student organizations, community initiatives, and CMU's disABILITY Awareness activities. Each year, you can participate in the Special Olympic Summer Games on campus or travel to Traverse City for the Winter Games. Graduates earn dual certification in both special education and general education, with options for elementary or secondary specialization.
