The chemical technology concentration provides an in-depth exploration of the methods required to analyze chemical compounds and create innovative materials.

Through spectroscopy and bioanalytical technique courses, you'll examine molecular structures, while polymer science classes demonstrate material synthesis processes.

Your academic journey starts with fundamental science and mathematics coursework. You'll participate in practical research projects and collaborate directly with distinguished faculty. For five decades, our unique capstone initiative has connected students with professors for impactful research projects - a program unmatched by other Michigan public institutions. Over the years, numerous students have successfully completed capstone projects, with many publishing their results in academic journals and showcasing their work at national conferences.

Although your capstone project represents your personal interests, you'll receive continuous support. A faculty advisor will provide guidance throughout the process to ensure your achievement. The program culminates with a research poster presentation, thesis composition, and opportunities to share your findings publicly.
