Whether pursuing a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science, you'll master music theory, composition, history, and performance, equipping you for careers in arts, business, industry, or government, or further graduate studies. The School of Music occupies a cutting-edge 119,000-square-foot building featuring a 500-seat concert hall with a 61-rank Casavant organ, a 100-seat recital space, digital audio labs, recording studios, and a music research hub. Music majors can join the Residential College, living alongside like-minded peers. CMU's ensembles and solo artists regularly compete and perform at prestigious state, national, and international events.
