Recognizing that prevention is crucial for maintaining wellness and controlling medical costs has sparked greater focus on health education and promotion across diverse healthcare environments, including medical facilities, gyms, organizations, and educational institutions. Health science experts are educated to guide people in enhancing their life quality through healthy habits. The School of Health Sciences provides undergraduate programs designed to train professionals who can: 1) serve as fitness and exercise experts in preventive and recovery programs, 2) work as health educators and wellness promotion specialists in public health, 3) specialize in substance abuse prevention, intervention, and treatment education, and 4) manage administrative roles in healthcare organizations. Graduate programs include: Health Service Administration within the Master of Science in Administration, Master of Science in Exercise Physiology, Master of Public Health, Master of Health Administration, and Doctor of Health Administration. Central Michigan University's exercise science kinesiology program provides excellent preparation for graduate studies in occupational therapy, physician assistant programs, physical therapy, or chiropractic medicine, blending biology, exercise science, and chemistry coursework.
