Our MS program consists of ten classes or 30 credit hours, in a variety of topics from mechanical engineering. The degree requires students to complete two classes engineering math classes plus eight graduate electives, or six plus a thesis. The courses can be drawn from fields such as acoustics and vibrations, robotics, material science, and additive manufacturing or microsystems.
The Department of Mechanical Engineering offers two graduate programs leading to the degrees of Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering (M.S.M.E.):
Students are required to enroll in 500-level or above ME courses and two of the following three courses: ENGR 516, ENGR 518, and ENGR 520. Other ENGR or graduate-level courses may be approved in consultation with the student's academic advisor. One Engineering Management course may be acceptable if approved by the Department Chair.
