The Master of Engineering in Industrial Engineering provides specialized education in key areas essential to U.S. industrial competitiveness: quality control, operational efficiency, and productivity enhancement. Our curriculum emphasizes engineering management, operations analysis, production methods, ergonomic design, and enterprise software solutions. Iowa State University's MEng in Industrial Engineering prepares professionals to tackle both technical and leadership demands in creating sophisticated engineering systems. Students may pursue this program through online or on-campus study, with flexible full-time or part-time options.
International participants have access to Curricular Practical Training (CPT), enabling them to gain work experience through summer internships and semester-long placements at U.S. companies. Below the course requirements, you'll find a sample academic plan incorporating both CPT and Optional Practical Training (OPT).
Completion of the MEng degree requires 30 credit hours. Non-degree graduate students may transfer up to nine (9) credits toward their Program of Study and Committee (POSC) requirements.
