The M.A. in Human Rights program is a 30-credit-hour degree program.

The innovative, interdisciplinary Master of Arts in Human Rights curriculum at The Catholic University of America draws upon diverse academic offerings from the Schools of Arts and Sciences, Philosophy, Canon Law, Theology and Religious Studies, Business, and Law. Under the guidance of Prof. William Saunders, full-time students form a supportive cohort committed to studying human rights. The program includes 30 semester hours of coursework, a capstone course focusing on the Church’s work at the United Nations, and regular meetings with leaders from various human rights organizations. Students also have the opportunity to intern under former Ambassador Samuel Brownback. To graduate, students must maintain a B average, completing courses selected by the Program Director from a varied list based on current faculty availability.
