The Bachelor of Arts in Architectural Studies program merges liberal arts with foundational architecture and design education. Students can choose electives spanning diverse architectural subjects or specialize in specific domains like architectural history, theory, design, or technology. This four-year curriculum demands at least 120 credit hours and caters to those wanting architectural knowledge within a liberal arts context.
The B.A. in Architectural Studies does not serve as a pre-professional qualification for traditional 2-year master's programs in architecture. Therefore, it doesn't equip students for architectural licensure or direct professional practice. Instead, it provides architectural conceptual understanding, serving as an excellent foundation for graduate studies in related disciplines or a three-year Master of Architecture program for those pursuing professional certification.
