To qualify for cross-program course credits, students pursuing dual degrees must complete both their MSW and MA degrees concurrently. The collaborative program between Case Western Reserve's Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences and the Department of Bioethics stands unique among U.S. institutions. With ethical challenges multiplying in healthcare, gerontology, and mental health services, demand grows for skilled social workers versed in bioethical principles and conflict resolution strategies.
Healthcare institutions frequently seek ethical guidance regarding terminal care decisions, organ transplantation protocols, or treatment commencement/cessation choices.
