The University of Michigan-Ann Arbor's College of Business and School of Public Health provide a combined degree program that awards both a Master of Health Services Administration (MHSA) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA). By recognizing shared coursework between the two disciplines, students can earn both degrees after completing 82 graduate credits. The MHSA curriculum emphasizes the structure, funding, promotion, and administration of healthcare organizations and personal health service delivery in the U.S., equipping graduates for leadership roles in healthcare settings such as hospitals, clinics, and emergency services. This degree also prepares individuals for planning, policy analysis, or consulting roles concerning healthcare financing, organization, and service quality in both public and private sectors. The MBA component builds additional competencies in finance, marketing, and strategic management applicable across various industries, offering valuable insights for healthcare corporate leadership and preparing professionals for executive roles. Students can pursue the MBA component at the Dearborn campus, online, or through a hybrid approach, with flexible full-time or part-time enrollment options. Courses are primarily available during fall and winter terms, with rolling admissions for September or January starts (May admission often available for part-time students). Current University of Michigan-Dearborn undergraduates admitted to the MBA program can take up to 6 graduate business credits in their final undergraduate semester.
