The Sociology Department provides degree programs for Bachelor of Arts, Master of Arts, and Doctor of Philosophy qualifications.
Sociologists examine fundamental social dynamics along with the origins and effects of societal transformations in our diverse, globally connected world. The field spans numerous subjects, from individual interactions to large-scale social structures. Our bachelor's program features focus areas in Crime, Law and Justice; Gender, Work and Family; Health, Medicine and Aging; and Social Inequality. Students can also opt for a general sociology track. At the graduate level, specializations include Health and Medical Sociology, Aging and Life Course Studies, Social Stratification, and Research Methodologies.
