Students have the option to pursue a combined five-year program culminating in both a Bachelor of Science in applied mathematics and a Master of Science in a complementary field. To successfully complete this BS/MS dual degree within five years, participants must select a non-mathematics discipline that synergizes well with mathematics, such as computer/information science, operations research, systems engineering, control theory, biology, or cognitive science. All academic regulations governing Integrated BS/MS programs must be adhered to. (As graduate coursework for the MS is dictated by the relevant department, each dual-degree candidate should secure a secondary advisor from that department by their junior year at the latest, consulting regularly about MS degree requirements.
