The Certificate of Achievement in Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC) for CSU will be granted after fulfilling all specified IGETC requirements. A minimum of 37 (CSU) credit units must be completed across six subject areas. The IGETC curriculum is intended to complement a student's major focus and elective coursework when preparing to transfer to a California State University. This certification acknowledges the fulfillment of lower-division general education prerequisites under IGETC. While completing the IGETC pattern is recommended for numerous majors, it isn't mandatory for CSU admission. Students must submit an official petition to the Admission and Records Office before the graduation deadlines listed in the Academic Calendar.
