The Human Development Major is a cross-disciplinary curriculum centered on human growth and progression across all life stages, examining the familial, societal, cultural, and political systems that shape individual development. This program equips students with comprehensive knowledge of the social, cultural, psychological, and biological aspects of human existence from infancy through adulthood. Courses integrate perspectives from multiple fields including psychology, sociology, biology, anthropology, and studies of ethnicity, race, and gender. This major prepares students to thrive in diverse cultural, ethnic, economic, and political landscapes. Our program emphasizes valuing these differences within human services contexts as a fundamental component.
