The Master of Arts in Education with a TESOL concentration is tailored for educators working with English language learners in both U.S. and international settings. This program provides specialized tracks in K-12 instruction, adult ESL education, program administration, and university-level English teaching. English language education represents one of California's - and the world's - most rapidly expanding career fields.

Our College of Education currently provides three delivery formats for the MA-TESOL: fully online, hybrid (partially online), and traditional in-person classes. While the fieldwork requirement (EESL 6900) involves supervised teaching, distance learners can arrange to fulfill this component in their local area.

Distinguished faculty members bring expertise in language acquisition, cutting-edge teaching methodologies, and digital learning tools. The curriculum emphasizes communicative language approaches, integrating modern theories that view learners holistically. Through method courses and hands-on teaching experiences, participants develop enhanced classroom skills.
