The Environmental Health Science Program is ideal for students pursuing careers as health inspectors (registered environmental health specialists or REHS), industrial hygienists, hazardous waste management professionals, air quality specialists, or pest control experts. For aspiring REHS professionals, this program holds approval from California's Environmental Health Specialist Registration Committee under the Department of Public Health. Certification by the Environmental Health Coordinator ensures students meet both academic and experiential prerequisites for California's REHS licensing exam. Additionally, the program carries accreditation from the National Environmental Health Science and Protection Accreditation Council, qualifying graduates for positions as environmental health officers in the U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps.
