The demand for public health experts to offer guidance and specialized knowledge to communities has become increasingly vital. During the pandemic's peak, significant obstacles emerged that necessitated professionals with the distinct capabilities essential for tackling new health challenges.
Our Bachelor of Science in Public Health program equips students with an understanding of health behavior dynamics across local, state, national, and global contexts, while cultivating the competencies required to safeguard communities before health emergencies arise.
This curriculum prepares aspiring public health practitioners for careers in diverse health organizations, including government health departments, nonprofit agencies, community-based groups, healthcare providers, educational institutions, and corporate settings. Program graduates qualify to take the Certified Health Education Specialists (CHES) examination administered by the National Commission on Health Education Credentialing Inc.
To earn a Bachelor of Science in Public Health, students must fulfill 180 quarter units as outlined, including 70.5 units of general education requirements (with at least 45 units completed at National University) and 76.5 upper-division units. Without transfer credits, additional electives may be needed to meet the total unit requirement.
