Communication and media influence how we perceive and engage with our social environments. The 45-credit Bachelor of Arts in Communication program equips students with essential communication knowledge and abilities through a comprehensive, practical, current, and meaningful curriculum. Five foundational courses introduce students to key communication systems and methods, theoretical frameworks and research approaches for analyzing these concepts, along with career options and ethical concerns for communication practitioners. Students enhance this knowledge and refine their skills by focusing on one of three specializations: Relational and Organizational Communication, Media Studies, or Strategic Communication. Additionally, diverse Experiential Learning courses provide practical training in communication and media to ready students for professional life. This combination of academic study and real-world application prepares graduates for lifelong personal, community, and workplace communication, opening doors to careers in numerous sectors including: human resources, professional development, journalism, broadcasting, film production, digital/social media planning and administration, corporate communications, non-profit and government public relations, and more.
