The Master of Social Work program at Sacramento State University was founded in 1964. Our curriculum equips students to emerge as skilled social workers capable of both leading initiatives and serving communities across regional, state, and national levels in various professional environments, including healthcare, mental health services, elder care, child protective services, as well as nonprofit organizations, government entities, diverse populations, and legal systems.
Our CSWE-accredited MSW program develops practitioners who think globally while acting locally, maintain an enduring dedication to learning and quality service, and devote their careers to advancing social justice, health equality, and sustainable community progress to tackle modern societal issues.
To meet our students' varying schedules and commitments, we provide three flexible program options: a traditional Two-Year Full-Time track, an accelerated Advanced Standing route, and a Three-Year Weekend/Part-Time alternative.
