The Bachelor of Science in Recreation, Park and Nonprofit Management equips students for diverse careers focused on public service, conservation of natural and cultural resources, and enhancing community well-being. The curriculum includes essential core courses complemented by specialized electives in areas like Nonprofit and Community Engagement, Outdoor Recreation, or Public and Agency Recreation.
The Recreation, Parks and Tourism Administration Department provides three distinct Bachelor of Science degrees, a Master of Science program, and multiple Minor and Certificate options. These programs develop students' abilities to oversee personnel, coordinate activities, and manage operations across various recreational environments—from municipal parks and national reserves to tourism hotspots, fitness facilities, and nonprofit organizations. Additionally, students learn professional advocacy, ethical practices, inclusive approaches, and modern assessment techniques relevant to diverse workplace contexts.
