The Archaeological and Biological Anthropology specialization equips students with scientific anthropological understanding, techniques, and viewpoints. This program readies students for professional paths in anthropological sciences, including cultural heritage preservation, bone analysis, museum or wildlife technician roles, or further academic pursuits.
Archaeology and Biological Anthropology (ABA): focuses on a rigorous scientific methodology within anthropology. Covering subjects like evolutionary biology, human diversity, ecosystems, bone studies, and animal archaeology, it trains students for anthropological science careers in government and industry sectors, such as heritage conservation, crime scene investigation, artifact curation, and postgraduate research in anthropology or similar fields.
Cultural and Social Anthropology examines human societies globally, including our own: economic structures, legal traditions, family systems, belief systems, healthcare approaches, oral traditions, creative expressions, and governance models, along with how these systems interact with environmental adaptation and societal transformation. Anthropological Linguistics explores different facets of human speech and animal communication patterns, aiming to comprehend historical and contemporary language systems and their role in community interactions.
