The Post-Master's Certificate in Educational Therapy, developed jointly with the Association of Educational Therapists (AET), offers advanced training for master's degree holders seeking specialized knowledge in educational therapy. This curriculum integrates instructional and therapeutic methods for assessment, intervention, case coordination, and client advocacy for individuals with learning difficulties across all ages. Upon finishing the required coursework and practical training, participants receive an Advanced Study in Educational Therapy Certificate. This program fulfills the academic prerequisites for AET's Associate membership tier. Additionally, the internship component satisfies 50 hours of supervision needed for Professional membership, serving as the program's capstone experience.

Qualification Requirements

Completion of a Master's Degree program in Special Education or a related field as approved by the Educational Therapy Program Coordinator, with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
Good standing at the last university attended.
Two prerequisite courses: One approved course in Child/Adolescent Development and one approved course in Human Learning.
Pre-admission advisement meeting.
Minimum of two years of full-time experience, or the equivalent of 2,000 hours, in providing educational and/or therapeutic services. Experience must be verified using the form provided.
Two letters of recommendation using the form provided.
Personal statement (written responses to provided questions).
Livescan clearance using form provided.
Documentation of a negative tuberculosis test result within the last 2 years. The test must clearly indicate a negative result and may completed any health facility. Currently enrolled CSUN students may contact the Klotz Student Health Center for a TB test.
Current CPR certification covering infant, child, and adult CPR. Submit a copy of your signed CPR card (front and back) with your application.
