The Master of Science (M.S.) in Counseling program offers a specialization in College Counseling and Student Services, structured as a full-time curriculum. It combines foundational counseling coursework with specialized classes tailored for careers in higher education settings, particularly on urban university and community college campuses. The program emphasizes serving diverse student groups, such as adult learners, students from underrepresented backgrounds, and individuals with disabilities. Designed for both aspiring student affairs professionals and current practitioners seeking advanced training, it provides eligibility to take the National Counselor Examination (NCC certification). For those pursuing clinical practice, the program includes coursework and fieldwork meeting California's requirements for Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) licensure, with additional postgraduate experience and examinations required.
