The Master of Arts in Secondary Curriculum & Instruction (C&I) program enhances teaching methods for middle and high school educators, explores contemporary educational challenges across disciplines, implements research-backed classroom strategies, and fosters professional connections among secondary teachers and faculty. Flexible scheduling options Complete 3 to 15 units per semester based on course availability Evening classes designed for working professionals with two time slots: 4:20–6:45pm or 7:00–9:45pm. Typical completion timeframe: 18 months. Priority registration for program courses. CSUN credential coursework may count toward the C&I degree. Graduates qualify for roles including master teachers, student teacher supervisors, curriculum designers, department heads, or doctoral candidates. Many school systems provide pay increases for master's degree holders, which are often mandatory for community college or university adjunct positions. While ideal for graduates of CSUN's Preliminary Single-Subject Credential Program, current educators may also enroll independently for a customized alternative to the department's other master's programs.
