The Journalism Department provides a Master's program in Mass Communication, equipping students with skills to critically examine media while also creating media content. Both tracks highlight how media influences societal transformation.

Our international faculty specialize in diverse fields including migration reporting, participatory journalism, diaspora media, refugee communication strategies, and visual storytelling.
Graduate students may choose between developing media projects or conducting academic research. Past media productions have covered topics like automated news reporting, Salvadoran immigrant experiences, youth activism movements, and cultural perspectives on African American hairstyles. Digital projects have included collaborative travel planning applications and illustrated narratives about refugee support organizations. Academic research has explored smart urban development in Medellín, Colombia, along with investigations into how refugees utilize media in Nordic countries.
