Information Systems (IS) focuses on leveraging technology—computers and communication networks—to enhance managerial decisions, corporate strategies, and day-to-day organizational operations. Our alumni can identify and assess ethical dilemmas in workplace scenarios, then choose and justify appropriate solutions. They excel at conveying intricate IS and business ideas both verbally and in writing. With sharp analytical abilities, they tackle IS and business challenges through critical thinking. They grasp team dynamics in project environments and comprehend the interconnected nature of IS technologies. Equipped to design systems aligned with organizational goals, they cultivate research skills for continuous professional growth in IS.
The Systems and Operations Management Department provides these degree paths: an M.S. in Business Analytics, a B.S. in Business Administration with specializations in Business Analytics, Global Supply Chain Management, or Systems and Operations Management, plus a B.S. in Information Systems. Students may also pursue minors in Business Analytics, Information Systems, or Quality Management and Assurance. These programs emphasize cultivating problem-solving techniques, analytical reasoning, communication proficiency, and adaptive use of evolving technologies—essential competencies for leadership roles across manufacturing, service, and public sectors. Our dedicated faculty prioritize exceptional instruction, scholarly research, and meaningful engagement with campus and local communities.
