The Urban Studies and Planning program offers an interdisciplinary undergraduate curriculum centered on addressing key challenges of modern urban living. This program is ideal for students who: Aspire to attend graduate programs in urban planning, design, environmental policy, social work, law, public administration, or global development, Plan to launch careers after graduation with government bodies, private companies, or nonprofits focused on urban challenges, regional strategies, property development, or community initiatives, or Seek a social science degree concentrating on historical and contemporary urban analysis. The Urban Studies and Planning major mandates foundational lower-division courses and advanced core classes, equipping students with holistic urban knowledge and practical planning methodologies. Beyond these requirements, students select specialized electives and must complete hands-on field research plus an internship with planning-focused public, nonprofit, or private entities.
