Since its origins, philosophy has consistently engaged in thoughtful examination of human existence, our surroundings, ethical living, and interpersonal connections. This discipline tackles profound questions central to the human experience—exploring the boundaries of knowledge, the essence of reality and truth, personal identity, the mind-body connection, ethical foundations, societal structures, and principles of sound logic. The Philosophy program aims to introduce students to philosophical inquiry while developing their ability to analyze core philosophical questions critically. CSUN's Philosophy Department features skilled educators committed to fostering philosophical growth in every student. With intimate class sizes typically between 20-34 students, the program creates an optimal setting for philosophical exploration and personal development. This structure enables professors to provide individualized attention, enhancing students' analytical, interpretive, and compositional abilities.
