The Bachelor of Arts in Music with a Music Therapy specialization equips students for professional roles in music-based therapeutic practices (admission requires an audition). Final requirement: clinical internship. Graduates meet the qualifications to sit for the national certification exam to earn Board-Certified Music Therapist credentials.

This evidence-based Music Therapy curriculum blends theoretical instruction with hands-on learning to cultivate students' creative, analytical, and intuitive abilities. Through extensive case studies - both simulated and actual - students refine their competencies before undertaking the culminating internship experience. Before beginning their internship, candidates must show substantial advancement toward meeting the professional standards established by the American Music Therapy Association.
Alumni from our music programs hold rewarding positions globally, serving as educators in academic institutions, certified music therapists, ensemble directors, accomplished composers, recognized recording artists, performers with prestigious musical organizations, and contributors to Southern California's entertainment sector and beyond.
