The Asian American Studies department delivers an interdisciplinary liberal arts curriculum. This program grants a Bachelor of Arts degree focused on cultivating students' abilities in critical thinking, written expression, verbal communication, and logical reasoning, while exploring and interpreting the cultural, economic, social, political, and historical narratives of Asian Americans. This pathway is ideal for students pursuing a dual major with Asian American Studies as their secondary concentration.
Rooted in social justice movements alongside marginalized groups, the Department of Asian American Studies commits to both scholarly and community-oriented objectives. These include fostering educational advancement, supporting career growth, strengthening Asian/Pacific Islander communities locally and internationally, and addressing societal, economic, legal, and cultural challenges to inspire equitable solutions and progressive change.
