The Bachelor of Music program offers specialized training for students pursuing careers in music education, performance, composition, or jazz studies. Prospective students should examine the distinct admission requirements for each concentration outlined below. Every specialization within this degree has been meticulously designed to deliver comprehensive training addressing both the artistic and practical requirements of future music professionals. Each concentration allows for customized coursework to accommodate personal goals. The foundational curriculum focuses on music theory, literature, and performance studies during the first two years, while advanced coursework covers sophisticated theoretical concepts, music history, performance techniques, and career-specific training in the selected specialization. The Music Education track prepares students for California's Single Subject Credential in Music. All specializations except Music Education mandate a junior recital performance. Every Bachelor of Music concentration requires a senior recital and ongoing participation in performance ensembles alongside individual instrument or voice instruction.
