The Bachelor of Music program offers specialized training for students pursuing careers in music education, performance, composition, or jazz studies. Prospective students should examine the distinct admission requirements for each concentration outlined below. Every specialization within this degree has been meticulously designed to deliver comprehensive training addressing both the artistic and practical requirements of emerging music professionals. Each concentration allows for personalized coursework to accommodate individual goals. The foundational music curriculum focuses on music theory, literature, and performance studies in the lower division, while upper-level courses delve into advanced theoretical concepts, music history, performance techniques, and specialized career training within the chosen field. The Music Education track prepares students for California's Single Subject Credential in Music. With the exception of Music Education, all concentrations mandate a junior recital performance. Every Bachelor of Music specialization requires both a senior recital and ongoing participation in performance ensembles alongside individual music instruction.
